What is a registered address service ?

A registered address is defined by the Law of May 31, 1999 governing the domiciliation of companies, which refers to a company establishing its registered office with a third party, known as the “domiciliary agent.”
Only a member of certain regulated professions may serve as a domiciliary agent. Certified public accountants are among the regulated professions authorized to act as domiciliary agents for companies.
A company that does not require its own premises to conduct its business may, under certain conditions, establish a registered office with a third party and designate that location as its registered office.

A registered office is a suitable solution for companies that, due to the nature of their business, do not require their own premises. This is not the case, for example, for a company engaged in commercial activities that requires a business license, as the law requires such companies to have premises suitable for conducting their business.

A registered office agreement is a contract entered into between the registered office provider and the company that wishes to establish its registered office with that provider.
Under this agreement, the registered office of the client company is established at the provider’s address.
